What are LunchBots made of?
LunchBots lids and containers are manufactured from the highest quality, food grade, Type 304 stainless steel. Stainless steel is an alloy made from natural elements and is one of the safest materials for food storage and handling. Type 304 stainless is commonly known as 18/8 stainless. This type of stainless steel has great resistance to stain or rust and is easy to clean and durable.
Will my LunchBot container rust if I put something acidic into it?
Type 304 stainless steel does not rust or discolor, even with acidic foods. It is the highest quality stainless steel made.
How are LunchBot lids colored?
The tops of the LunchBots lids have been powder coated to add color. Powder coating is a durable finish that does not emit any volatile organic compounds (VOC). The coating is applied electrostatically and then cured in an oven. Any overspray is recycled and reused. The bottom of each lid is not powder coated and is the natural color of stainless steel.
